DESCRIPTION:STARS AND MOUNTAINS
 KARLOS ARETXABALETA \"TXAPEL\"
 Friday D
 ecember 13 – 16:30 Euskalduna Sala OC
Imagine you are sitting in front
of a well-known climber or mountaineer\, one you admire. Imagine that you
both have a beer in your hand\, a smile on your face\, and that the words
come out on their own\, in complete confidence\, close\, friendly. Imagin
e that you can slip into their stories\, into the anecdotes that have buil
t their journey. And then\, you collect all that you have heard and shared
in a book in which reality draws a fictional scenario. That is what the B
iscayan writer Karlos Aretxabaleta\, Txapel\, has done. He has shared afte
 rnoons with\, among others\, Edurne Pasaban\, Juanjo San Sebastian\, the P
 ou brothers\, Alex Txikon\, Oihana Azkorbebeitia\, Mikel Zabalza\, Alberto
  Iñurrategi\, Ekaitz Maiz\, Imanol Amundarain\, Irati Anda\, Iker Arroita
jauregi\, Iñigo Basterra... We will walk with them along the paths of mem
ories\, through far-off countries and closer surroundings\, but always wit
h nature as our flag. The prologue is written by Juanra Madariaga\, and th
e epilogue by Ioritz Gonzalez Lertxundi.

 The situation in Nepal mak
es access to education difficult for many children\, they are often forced
to drop out of school or do not even have the opportunity to start their
studies. Continuing with the legacy of the mountaineer Iñaki Ochoa de Olz
a\, the organisation SOS Himalaya contributes to improving this reality in
a country that increasingly recognises education as a fundamental tool fo
r overcoming poverty. Its work reflects how solidarity and collective work
  can transform lives.
