Two childhood friends return home to learn the history of their backyard: the Potomac River and its surroundings in the Washington DC area, USA. To do so, they immerse themselves in the adventure of going down part of the river in inflatable canoes and returning up the river’s banks by bicycle, while always being self-sufficient. Throughout their journey and the obstacles they tackle, the two realise that the past of the river they love is full of scars.
