The Club Vasco de Camping Elkartea, mountain club, from San Sebastian, has organized for the eighth consecutive year, its international mountain activity photography contest, CVCEPHOTO. Among Spanish photographers, authors from Canada, Slovenia, Poland, France, USA and Germany, are represented from more than 60 countries in this edition. The winner has been Yhabril Moro, from Biscay, who got the second price in 2016. The winner of BBK Mendifilm Bilbao Bizkaia Poster price has been the Slovenian Sandi Bertoncelj, which has given him the honor of repeating as the image of the 2022 edition of the festival, as he also did in 2020.

Andrés Espinosa is the protagonist of the third comic of the collection presented by Mendi Film and SUA publishing house. A fascinating character, a man ahead of his time, a seasoned and extraordinary pioneer in the world of mountaineering, a giant without the makings of a hero.
The illustrations by César Llaguno, with the advice of the colourist Felipe H. Navarro, come to life, giving shape to the script and texts by Ramón Olasagasti. A luxury tandem, which already gave us the comics about the Basque conquest of Everest and the legacy of the Iñurrategi brothers.

The Walk On Project Foundation and Mendi Film Festival Elkartea are awarding the WOP Mendi Film 2022 Award to Dr Eduardo Martínez de Pisón, geographer, writer and mountaineer. This award, which recognises the defence and dissemination of the values of mountaineering, is in its 9th edition. The WOP-Walk On Project Foundation is a social enterprise that fights against neurodegenerative diseases via different activities.

MIGUEL DELIBES

Miguel Delibes de Castro is one of the most relevant figures in the field of knowledge, defence and protection of our natural environments: doctor in biology, director for many years of the Doñana National Park, prominent member of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature is, without a doubt, the main architect of the survival of the Iberian lynx. In his lecture he offers his particular vision on the keys and commitments necessary to face the challenge of achieving something as complex and as simple as that life, understood in its broadest and deepest sense, can continue. 
MICHAEL DILLON

The International Alliance for Mountain Film’s 2022 Grand Prize has been awarded to Australian director Michael Dillon, in recognition of his lifetime’s work in the field of mountain film. Highlights of his career include 25 years as Sir Edmund Hillary’s filmmaker, and his filming of three significant Australian Everest expeditions, including a never since repeated sea level to summit climb which he conceived and filmed. That film “Everest Sea to Summit” won eight Grand Prizes worldwide and is considered one of the greatest adventure films of all time.
